    Segura Brings Home Winning Run in Walkoff Fashion

    The Miami Marlins defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-2 on Thursday night at loanDepot park. Jean Segura hit a walkoff RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Marlins to victory.

    The game was tied 2-2 after eight innings. The Marlins loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning against Cubs reliever Michael Rucker. Segura then hit a single to left field to score Garrett Hampson from third base and give the Marlins the win.

    Segura finished the game with two hits, two RBIs, and a walk. Garrett Cooper also homered for the Marlins.

    Marlins starter Jesus Luzardo allowed one run on four hits and struck out seven in six innings. Cubs starter Marcus Stroman allowed one run on four hits and struck out five in six innings.
