    Marlins Fall Short in Loss to Braves

    The Atlanta Braves defeated the Miami Marlins 7-4 on Tuesday, at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.

    The Braves got a strong start from Charlie Morton, who went 7 innings and allowed 4 runs on 6 hits. Ozzie Albies homered twice and drove in 4 runs for the Braves, while Eddie Rosario added a solo home run. The Marlins were led by Jazz Chisholm Jr., who had a solo home run and two RBIs.

    The Braves got on the board in the first inning when Ronald Acuña Jr. doubled and scored on a single by Austin Riley. The Marlins tied the game in the top of the third inning when Chisholm Jr. hit a solo home run off of Morton. The Braves took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth inning when Albies hit a two-run home run off of Braxton Garrett.

    The Braves added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on a solo home run by Rosario and a two-run double by Albies. The Marlins scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning on a solo home run by Chisholm Jr. and an RBI single by Garrett Cooper, but it wasn’t enough as the Braves held on for the win.

    Morton (2-0) picked up the win for the Braves, while Hoeing (0-1) took the loss for the Marlins. The Braves improved to 16-8 on the season, while the Marlins fell to 12-12.
