The Miami Heat were dominated by the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday evening at the Miami-Dade Arena.
The final score of the loss was 119-96 and the 76ers did that without star Joel Embiid on the court. The loss came just a couple of days after a win in Philly for Miami, and appeared to be a revenge game for the 76ers.
Ineffective shooting especially from downtown was the story of the game for the Heat. They went 7-29 on treys and shot 43.6% overall on field goals. Not a single member of Miami’s starting five sank a three in the loss. Gabe Vincent‘s night especially stands out in that department, as he went 0-7 on his three-point tries.
Miami also turned the ball over 12 times, and every member of the starting five did so at least once. Combining the shot accuracy with this sloppy play, quickly shows why the final score had such a large margin in it.
Miami actually led after one quarter of play 38-34, but everything unraveled quickly after that. Philly won the second quarter 37-15 and never looked back. The 76ers would go on to pad their lead in every subsequent quarter.
The Heat will look to rebound from this loss, when they host the New York Knicks on Friday night.
