Heat Drop Third in a Row

The Knicks pulled away late without Julius Randle to beat the Heat 101-92 on Wednesday night. Immanuel Quickly scored 24 points, Quentin Grimes had 23 and the Knicks moved closer to a postseason berth with a win that sent the Heat closer to the play-in tournament.

The Knicks were playing without Randle, who sprained his left ankle in the first quarter. But they got a big game from Grimes, who made 6 of 9 3-pointers. Quickly also had six 3-pointers, and the Knicks made 15 of 41 from long range.

The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler, who had 29 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Tyler Herro added 22 points, but the Heat shot just 39.3% from the field.

The Knicks led by as many as 16 points in the third quarter, but the Heat cut the deficit to 85-82 with 9:45 left in the game. But the Knicks responded with a 10-2 run to push the lead back to 10.

The Heat never got closer than seven points the rest of the way. The Knicks improved to 26-44 on the season, while the Heat fell to 44-23.
