Chisholm To Grace Cover of MLB The Show 23

Miami Marlins star Jazz Chisholm, Jr. will be on the cover of the upcoming video game MLB The Show 23.

No previous player in franchise history had graced the cover of any video game, let alone the best selling MLB The Show. Jazz’s selection is a surprising choice, since typically the player on the cover is a member of one of the larger market teams. Chisholm also has a relatively small amount of service time thus far, though he has been productive and electric in that time.

When Chisholm was voted into the All-Star Game last year, it was a sign that he is rather popular nationwide. It is rare for a Marlins player to be voted into the game, as other fanbases simply dominate the voting process annually. It takes outside fans to get a Marlin into the starting lineup at the Midsummer Classic and that’s exactly what happened with Chisholm.

While Chisholm missed the 2022 All-Star Game with an injury, he is still credited with the election. It figures to be the first of many for him and that’s likely what helped San Diego Studio make this cover decision. Jazz will not only be on the cover, but he figures to feature prominently in promotional campaigns for the game as well. Last year’s cover player was Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels and he was in multiple commercials for the game. If Jazz Chisholm isn’t a household name already, he soon will be one.

MLB The Show 23 will be available to play on March 28th, with preorders beginning February 6th.
